Hi, what are you looking for?

Salim Rahim Rana’s book explains the three doshas and what ayurvedic practices entail in great detail.

In his book, Healthy Living Lifestyle: Eradicating Illness Naturally, Salim Rana, an expert ayurvedic practitioner, talks about how Ayurveda is a holistic treatment for myriad of illnesses.

Those who practice Ayurveda believe that everything in the universe—dead or alive—is connected. If an individual’s mind, body, and spirit are in harmony with the universe, they will have good health.

When something disrupts this balance, a person can get sick. Among the things that can upset this balance are genetic or birth defects, injuries, climate and seasonal change, age, and one’s emotions. Practitioners also every person is made of five basic elements found in the universe: space, air, fire, water, and earth.

“Everyone inherits a unique mix of the three doshas. But one is usually stronger than the others. Each one controls a different body function. It’s believed that your chances of getting sick—and the health issues you develop—are linked to the balance of your doshas,” commented Salim Rana, talking about doshas and energy levels in ayurvedic medicine.

Vata dosha controls very basic body functions, like how cells divide. It also controls one’s mind, breathing, blood flow, heart function, and ability to get rid of waste through their intestines. Things that can disrupt it include eating again too soon after a meal, fear, grief, and staying up too late.

Pitta dosha control one’s digestion, metabolism (how well one’s body breaks down foods), and certain hormones linked to gut health.

Kapha dosha controls muscle growth, body strength and stability, weight, and the immune system. These three doshas are responsible for the mind, body, and soul.

An aurvedic practitioner will take into account an individual’s unique physical and emotional makeup, primary life force, and the balance between all three of these elements.

The goal of treatment is to cleanse the body of undigested food, which can stay in the body and lead to illness. The cleansing process — called “panchakarma” — is designed to reduce the symptoms and restore harmony and balance.

The book is available on both Amazon and Kindle.

To achieve this, an Ayurvedic practitioner might rely on blood purification, massage, medical oils, herbs, and enemas or laxatives.
